General FAQs

Aloysian Games 2026 is South India’s premier inter-school and inter-collegiate sports event, presented by St Aloysius (Deemed to be University), Mangaluru. Scheduled from 9th – 10th January 2026, the event welcomes over thousands of athletes, enthusiasts, and spectators from across South India and beyond.

All school and college students across India (mainly from South India) are eligible to participate in the Aloysian Games.

The 2026 edition features 10 sports and 1 marathon (10K|5K|3K)

All events will take place at/near the St Aloysius (Deemed to be University) campus, Mangaluru, equipped with professional-standard sports facilities.

All registrations are to be completed online through the official portal: https://aloysiangames.com

You’ll receive all the updates in the dedicated WhatsApp group for participants as well as on the social media handles. You’ll get the link to join our WhatsApp group right after your payment is successful.

  • Individual Sports: Starting at ₹200
  • Team Sports: Starting at ₹1,000 for the entire team
  • Marathon Categories: Starting at ₹350

Yes, students may participate in more than one sport.

No limits. An institution can send as many students and teams as they want.

Yes, all participants will receive e-certificates, and winners will receive prizes, medals, trophies, and official certificates.

Accommodation is not included by default. However, partnered hostels/hotels may offer special discounted packages, for which you can contact us by clicking here. Travel arrangements must be handled by the participants or their institutions.

Yes, each sports’ category requires a minimum of 8 registered entries to be conducted. If the minimum number is not met, the respective event/category will be cancelled, and a full refund will be processed to the original mode of payment.

Yes. All the above sports are solo participation sports.

Yes. All individual sports have separate categories for Males and Females.

Yes, most sports include institutional/age divisions and sports like Karate include weight divisions. Refer detailed rulesheets available on the official website by clicking here.

  • Chess: Chess Board & Clock will be Provided on-site
  • Badminton / Table Tennis: Participants must bring personal racquets
  • Swimming: Swimming Costume is compulsory along with cap, and goggles
  • Karate: Personal uniforms (Gi) required
  • Weightlifting: Personal belts, shoes, wraps recommended

Event-specific guidelines will be shared via email/SMS/WhatsApp post-registration.

Team Sports FAQs

No, your teammates must be from the same institution, because your team will represent your institution in the Aloysian Games 2026.

Team size varies per sport:

  • Football: 5 players + 5 substitutes
  • Volleyball: 6 players + 4 substitutes
  • Basketball: 5 players + 5 substitutes
  • Throwball: 7 players + 3 substitutes (Degree College) | 9 players + 3 substitutes (School, High School, PU College)
  • Box Cricket: 6 players + 2 substitutes

A team can register only once in each sport/category, but an institution can send any number of teams in all sports.

Once you’ve submitted the registration form on the website and completed the payment as a team captain, you’ll be redirected to a webpage where you’ll get the form to submit your teammates.

We encourage teams to be accompanied by a coach or faculty coordinator, but it is not mandatory.

Aloysian Run FAQs

The Aloysian Run 2026 will take place on 18th January 2026 (Sunday)

  • 10K Timed Run
  • 5K Timed Run
  • 5K Untimed Run
  • 3K Untimed Run

It’s open for all, not just students — kids, adults, seniors — anyone and everyone can join!

Yes. 10K & 5K timed runs use certified timing chips for accurate race results.

  • 10K Timed Run: 18+
  • 5K Timed Run: 10+ (Under 16, should be accompanied by a guardian)
  • 3K & 5K Untimed Run: No strict age limit. Open for all ages.

All runners receive:

✔ Refreshments

Timed runners will receive their e-certificates with race timing results.

Yes, all participants must report by 5:30 AM sharp, on the event day i.e. 4th January 2026, Sunday.

Routes are designed around safe, traffic-controlled zones near the campus of St Aloysius (Deemed to be University). Detailed maps will be shared in advance before the race day on the website here, social media, and WhatsApp group of participants.

Comfortable sportswear and running shoes. Avoid slippers or footwear without grip. Your race bib must be worn visibly (preferably at chest level) at all times.

Spectators are allowed at designated cheering zones but not on the race/run course.

Registration fees are non-refundable, except in cases where the event is canceled by the organizers.

Yes. You will receive an email confirmation with your payment receipt.

Registration closes once slots for each sport are filled or by 2nd January 2026 (whichever is earlier).

Event Days FAQs

No. Once registered, the sport/category cannot be changed.

Yes. Medical staff, physios, and emergency support will be present throughout the event.

Yes. Food stalls (chargeable) and hydration points (free) will be available across the campus.
